What We Treat – Veterans

Going to therapy shows strength and can help you feel better.

As the US Department of Veteran Affairs states, anxiety is a normal biological reaction to a stressful event. Older Veterans were found no more likely to have anxiety than non-Veterans—In 2014, a team from the VA Palo Alto Health Care System and Stanford University School of Medicine examined data on 7,000 men age 50 or older, and found that Veterans were no more likely than non-Veterans to have depression or anxiety.

Why is this helpful to note? Because if you’re experiencing an element of anxiety or simply just feeling off or not okay, it’s more common than you may think.

Therapy can help and is fully confidential. It’s a space to be heard, to share what’s been bothering you with a clinical third party, who is there to support and guide you in feeling better and adjusting to the life moments you’re in right now.

If you’re a family member of a veteran or have an active-duty military person in your life and you’re looking for mental and emotional wellness support, we are here for you too.
