What We Treat – Stress
Therapy can help reduce your stress and overwhelm.

Not sure what’s been bothering you or maybe you feel overwhelmed by a lot of things, but the one word you are using to describe it is – stressed.
The American Psychological Association states that nearly 47% of people said they wish they had someone to help them manage their stress. In fact, two-thirds of adults (66%) said that, in the last 12 months, they could have used more emotional support than they received, and around a quarter (26%) cited the need for a lot more support. More than two in five adults (44%) said they don’t feel anyone understands what they are going through, and more than half (52%) said they wish they had someone to turn to for advice and/or support.
The National Institute of Mental Health defines stress as simply the brain’s response to any demand, which can be recurring, short-term, or long-term and is often triggered by some sort of change.
Stress can come from work, school, family, money, relationships, kids, a death in the family, divorce, moving, or even simply a lack of time to do what you want to do.
Although the NIH says continued strain on your body from routine stress is often the hardest to detect, it could lead to serious health problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, anxiety, depression and more.
Therapy can help you discover what’s causing the stress, be a listening ear, and help you understand how to manage it while putting your mental and emotional well-being at the forefront. Being stressed is a common occurrence every human being has dealt with, but managing it is crucial to your health. Especially when others either can’t or don’t know how to help, therapy is a great part of your wellness routine.
