Brenton McLean is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) at Serenium Therapy and Wellness and has been featured as one of the teen therapy experts for New Jersey Family Magazine. Prior to becoming a therapist, Brenton was a Special Education teacher, provided in-home applied behavior analysis (ABA), and led social-emotional learning groups. He is passionate about helping clients of all ages become the best version of themselves, specializing in working with kids and teens.
He focuses on helping his clients improve communication, strengthen relationships, and support personal growth and self-actualization while using games and creativity to help facility learning and emotional expression. He also has a special interest in helping kids and teens understand that anger is not a bad emotion and finding better ways to manage stress. With his calm, supportive presence and nonjudgmental listening, Brenton helps people understand their emotions, build healthier coping skills, and feel more grounded and in control.
He believes therapy should be a safe, welcoming space where people can speak openly and explore who they are. When people feel truly listened to, they’re able to grow, build resilience, and uncover strengths they didn’t realize they had. Brenton received his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from New England College.
